River's Run

Navigation
Associated Chat Rooms:

In some circles the bar has another name due to word of certain illicit activities that have never been proven to happen within the walls of this somewhat run down looking place.

Located in the eastern area of Beth Bow along the river that runs through the city, outside there are no clear signs with the name. Just a single hard to read board above the door which barely has scratched on it River's Run Most that find themselves at the bar by accident, or know what to look for. The usual people that tend to frequent the are are people that you do not want to run into alone at night.

Inside there is a single bar that looks like it has seen more battles then hardened veterans, in a couple of corners there still remain pieces of broken off blades, small prizes claimed from a few of the bar fights that may break out here. There are also a few tables that look like they may have seen better days as well.

The front room is ream after ream of fabrics, baskets of threads, yarns, needles, and other such tools. Behind the counter, which is at the far end of the front room, is the workshop which has six tables, and plenty of space for people to do their craft.

A tall, stern, and proper woman named Michelle Assina (NPC) owns the property. She has three rules: A proper stitch, a quiet team, and timeliness.

Upstairs are rent-able flats, and the top story is where Michelle lives.

The Orchid

Navigation
Associated Chat Rooms:

The Orchid is a high class end brothel that offers a range of entertainment to cater to some of the richest and higher class kind of clients around.

It was established after the Darkest Night when Lord Thane had purchased a warehouse strategically located in the western part of the district near the Royal Pier (now the Emerald Pier.) He converted the two story building into the finest establishment within the Wayward Ho District, and one of the most magnificent to be found in the city.

The outside is a combination of dark stone and wood, elegantly designed with flowers and vines engraved around its walls. Right above the door war is a long sign with colorfully and fantastically carved orchids flanking the words The Orchid written in a flowing script.

As one is admitted by the ever present bouncer and down a short flight of steps, they are met with an ornate, iron door, the visages of angels and devils wrought upon its metallic face. The door swinging open, one finds themself standing before a den of luxury and carnal delights. Heavy velvet curtains line the barred windows, crimson and black velvet drapes covering the ceilings and dipping, in gentle curves, downwards towards the heads of the patrons. The room itself is lit by the odd lantern and chandelier hanging from the ceiling, a multitude of dancing shadows cast from a number of fine candelabras, black candlesticks rising from their silver clutches.

A very ornate bar sits at one side of the room. Made out of the highest quality of ebony wood and carved with a series of wondrous and seductive work. The top lined with a black marble that swirls with white and gold accents, nearly shimmering, and stocked with some of the finest liquors and drinks to be found around the world.

At the other side rises a stage of a grandiose design, and capable of allowing a variety in types of performances to be done, even rigging for more acrobatic displays. Between is a maze of tables and booths. With one row of booths having extra velvet curtains framing that can be let loose to offer a little extra privacy in the main room, for entertainment or business. Adjacent to the main den are a couple of rooms that can be reserved for private parties of all kinds.

Off to one side it is hard to miss the very extravagantly carved staircase that leads up to the second floor. Up there are all the rooms which the more carnal pleasures offered by the brothel are held. No two rooms are the same, but each are lavishly decorated with very lovely carved furniture upholstered in the finest of fabrics from around the world. The beds are large, with a variety of types of bedding available to suit any kind of desires and pleasures.

There are bouncers stationed around the establishment around the clock. They take they safety of their workers seriously, and do not tolerate any kind of abuse or mishandling of them.

While The Orchid does cater to high society, at all hours of the day the bar is a bustle with commotion of people from all walks of life drinking and soaking in the entertainment, no questions asked.

In its time The Orchid has become a place for anyone that is anyone to come see and be seen, regardless of whether or not they choose to engage in the carnal pleasures the establishment has to offer.

Leigh is the current acting owner and manager. She handles the day to day business of running The Orchid.

Red Sky Inn

Navigation
Associated Chat Rooms:

The Red Sky Inn has been battered, burned, smashed from both inside and out, and yet it remains and is a staple of the district for the locals and sailors. After rebuilding from the damage done during the Naga Nori War they connected to another building expanding a little.

The outside could almost be mistaken for two shacks that collided from a distance, but a closer look reveals a kind of rough charm as it has been in its time rebuilt with scraps and parts taken from ships. It is a step above the Crawfang in Beth Bow but not by much. A patio extends out into and overlooking the water, with several tables and umbrellas shading it from rain and sun.

The interior is home to a bar where the rough sailors drink, gamble and gossips. There are many games of chance, and skill: darts, poker and arm wrestling contest. The floors are sticky, the room smoky. Ladies of the night and ill-repute ply their trade openly. Brawls are common, and there is more than one thief always hidden in the crowd. There are a couple of bouncers, but they usually don't get involved until someone goes through a wall.

It has plenty of small rooms on the second floor and in the recently annexed building. They are not spectacular, and not exactly the cleanest around, but they are a warm bed and roof overhead which is good enough for a nights stay especially when drunk.

Siblings Elizabeth and Rowdy Kingfisher own and manage the Red Sky Inn.

Ramsalon Lighthouse

During the Naga Nori War the lighthouse that sat out on away from the city ended up getting severely damaged. It was being repaired when a severe hurricane hit the city in the autumn of 3013. The storm damaged it even further and ended up causing much of it to fall into the ocean, putting it beyond hopes of repair.

A new lighthouse was commissioned to repair the one that was lost and a new location was chosen. There is a small land mass just south of the Congreth Kane Crater just large enough to make a decent location for the lighthouse. The small piece of land was first reinforced with spare stone and rubble from the reconstruction of the city and a little help of magic.

From there a square base was built. This part is about three stories high and holds living quarters, a kitchen, and a couple of commons room for those that will be working the lighthouse. There are also spare rooms and store rooms for times of poor weather and emergencies.

On top of that begins the spiral of the lighthouse. It gently slops upward, constructed out of dark and light stones which create a swirl like effect. Inside there is a set of slowly spiraling stairs that lead right to the top. Dotted along in the walls are small port hole looking windows. They have heavy shutter like covers that can be closed, or left open for a view and air. There are two floors at the top: At the very top is a single chamber that has no walls, but is enclosed by heavy and enchanted glass. In the very center is an elaborate mirror set up with lamps. Cleverly incorporated into the design is all the mechanical gears and bits help turn the mirrors and lamp by using the cranks and levels at the controls scattered about the chamber. Right underneath the chamber is another floor that has back up controls, and stores the bulk of the mechanical bits as well as spare parts. On this floor is also a doorway that leads outside to a balcony that goes all round the tower with sturdy railings.

The lighthouse can only be reached by taking a small vessel to it, so workers often go stocked for long stays, sometimes even taking their whole family with them for their shift.

Emerald Eyes

Navigation
Associated Chat Rooms:

The Emerald Eyes is a brothel in the Wayward Ho and is a local favorite of many sailors. It is located in a single story building in the south eastern corner of the district. The building was badly damaged during the Naga Nori War but has since been rebuilt.

While well-cared for, it is not as posh as some of the high-end establishments and does not have as much variety of entertainment as some others.

The outside looks humble, but distinct as the edging and exterior trim are painted a deep and vibrant emerald green color. Right in front of the building, near the entrance is a oval shaped sign that is the same shade of emerald green engraved with gold looking letters that read: Emerald Eyes .

Upon entering one will find themself in a small foyer where they are greeted by the hostess on duty. The hostess can help arrange a client's entertainment if they wish.

From there one can enter the main den area that is setup with intimate sitting areas with couches and tables. Rather like an intimate cafe of sorts. Tucked in the corner is a small bar with a small kitchen behind it which provides a small amount of Food and Drink service to their clients.

There are several doors off the back of the den that are more private rooms for some services with the right clients. Though a couple are kept locked all the time as they are living quarters for some of the staff.

It is run by a woman called Jade. She employs twelve girls. If she is not around, Fern and Ivy are in charge.

Wayward Ho

Navigation

The Wayward Ho district has proven to be a stubborn and strong reflection of the people that often work along the piers and ships.

It suffered a bit of damage during the Darkest Night with part of it getting flooded and then shifted some sinking a bit lower developing beach like shorelines in places. The city had it rebuilt adding in more piers to make up for the lost docks and piers of Shanty Town In time it grew cluttered quickly thanks to the incoming naval trade, many warehouses started cropping up as many started grabbing up real estate to build taverns and inns to cater for rough and salty sailors and other travelers passing on through the port. Thanks to the wealth of trade commerce, even some more high class entertainment venues took root so wealthy merchants and travelers did not have to go far to start relaxing.

Then during the Naga Nori War the piers suffered great damage as both sides sought to slow seaside access, several warehouses burned during the final solution scarring the district. Since then many warehouses, establishments, and piers have been rebuilt, but the district is still not as dense with buildings as it once was and more places to enjoy the seashore and beach of the city.

Parts of the Seashore of Ramsalon RP Chatroom is still rocky with remains of the former cliffs that used to be before the Darkest Night. Though many patches of enjoyable 'beaches' can be found, especially between each of the piers. They have become popular as a place to relax, rest, and experience the ocean. On many a day some mist is hanging over the scene, especially in the morning hours. The smell of the ocean is also ever-present as are the other signs of it being the edge of the ocean, such as seashells and similar things.

On the most western end of the district is a place overlooking the general area of the Seashore the viewpoint location is a rather large area on top of a rocky cliff. There are several small paths leading through the underbrush to small clearings. Large boulders are exposed all over the location and often used as picnic spots for families looking to have a good time. About sixty feet above the actual seashore, the location is a favorite spot for young couples to come and escape the watchful eye of their parents.

Red Sky Inn RP Chatroom - As salty as the roughest sailor, it is a favorite watering hole and lodging for those that work around the Wayward Ho, sailors, and travelers with little spare coin.

The Emerald Eyes - RP Chatroom A popular local brothel, well cared for, not very extravagant, but still quite lovely adult entertainment and socializing.

The Orchid RP Chatroom - An entertaining establishment of extravagance, luxury and high class. The bar serves some of the best drinks from around the world and they have a wealth of the finest entertainment, especially burlesque, to be found in the city. With a bit of catering to the more carnal desires.

Ramsalon Lighthouse - The original lighthouse was lost after a hurricane and the Naga Nori War. A new one has been built on a tiny island just south of the city.

Piers and Docks

Before each pier is a small market like square where many merchants, sailors, fishermen and dock workers conduct their day to day business. Many of the places remain open air and they are excellent places to occasionally get a deal, or score the freshest fish.

The Black Pier RP Chatroom had needed to be entirely rebuilt. It sits on western end of the district and is the pier designated to take mostly ships that travel between Ramsalon and down towards the south western direction, heading for Arpaksad and around to Ish Lavin and then around and up the western side of the Vaxian Continent or go off towards Shi Inkahan. Ships stay for weeks at a time, then set sail once more.

The Blue Pier was built after the Naga Nori War as a means to streamline naval traffic. It sits on the eastern end of the district and is designated to take the ships that travel towards the north east corner of the Vaxian continent and towards the north west side of Candenord.

The Commerce Pier and Trader's Pier RP Chatroom are twin piers which are reserved for use by the merchants of Ramsalon. Before the Darkest Night there was just the Merchant's Pier, though when the ground of the city shifted it suffered a bit of damage. When it was reconstructed a second pier was built nearby in the same exact style to create the twin piers in order to replace the one that was lost with the destruction of Shanty Town. They had suffered the least amount of damage during the Naga Nori War. Since then they have been reinforced and expanded to handle even more traffic and goods. These twin piers are held up by expensive hard woods and intricate stone work. They are wider than many other piers and equipped with the equipment necessary for the loading and unloading of cargo.

Fishers Pier used to be a half sunken remains of an older cargo pier that was severely damaged during the Darkest Night. It was completely destroyed during the Naga Nori War. Once things settled, the people of the district used scraps left over from rebuilding the other piers to make a new Fishers pier. Now its a lovely fishing spot with railings and seats to help support and provide comfort for the fishermen that make use of the pier. It even supports smaller fishing vessels freeing up some space on the other piers.

The Emerald Pier stands where the Royal Pier once was. The Royal Pier had been completely destroyed during the Naga Nori War. Needing a pier to securely bring in the ships carrying court members of Shi Inkahan, a new pier was built in its place. The locals were asked for a name, and thus it was dubbed the nickname of the Royal Pier as the new one served the same function as its predecessor. This pier is highly secure for among the ships of dignitaries are some of the more advance warships. Guards keep a heavy presence at every hour, and access to the pier is limited.

    Ramsalon Sewers

    Navigation
    Associated Chat Rooms:

It is possible to enter the sewers of Ramsalon through entrances, mostly locked, scattered about the cities.

There are a few layers to the sewers as in time the infrastructure had to be updated to adjust to the changes in the city and to ensure that they do not collapse or back up.

The most recent layer of sewers, re-excavated and re-bricked after the Darkest Night and again during the Naga Nori War are large enough for an several people to march comfortably, and even drive wagons through. There are many intricate tunnels to meet the needs of the city. With large locked grates where more security is needed.

In places, the new brick has already collapsed, through the forces of erosion or malicious destruction, allowing access to the older layers of sewers, which predate the Darkest Night and are infested with Rat-People and monsters, and are favored by some smugglers.

The older layers are prone to cave-ins and random collapses, and it's possible to find one's way from them down to maze-like networks of ancient tombs, catacombs, dungeons, and caverns that lie deep beneath the city. These caverns connect to the Nethar city of Nazmarshin deep beneath the earth.
